Great turnout in January even with some familiar faces missing. Can we make double figures this month???
I'm taking votes on the route. Way out west from Darfield to Rakaia Gorge and back, or intense blast over the south summit road and round the bays to Lyttelton? I will count up on Monday and check the weather to see which looks favourite.

Well, the votes are in... I get to choose! Suits me not to travel all the way into town this week, so I vote Rakaia Gorge. I'll be in Darfield (somewhere near Gnomes ski store) ready to leave at 7:15, so anyone coming from town has got a bit of time to get out there first. For anyone coming from Rangiora/Oxford, I/we will head out on the West Coast Road to Sheffield and meet you at the junction at 7:25.

In case anyone was planning on coming, late rain looks set to ruin the fun again. If it clears quickly I might still venture out but it isn't looking likely
