Haters gonna hate no matter what. Wear a bat man teeshirt every time you drive There's is a simple rhetorical question answer to there invalid opinions "do you own and drive a factory lotus race car"

Cheers for your input guys and keeping it positive!

I've also been canvassing a few folk in the classic/lotus scene. Interestingly I've had a couple of people feel strongly enough about leaving it that they're interested in buying it! Something else to think about......

I think that rounded rear quarter looks great and is in itself also unique. I think if my car had some feature I really disliked, which in turn might make me think twice about driving it I'd remove it. As for the haters though, feck em! :D

Here is an interesting fact for you: Southwards Car Museum has no Lotus 7 example, not even a NZ-made replica in the 'made in NZ' section. Very disappointing. If/when you get to thinking of disposing of the car one day, why not approach Southwards and see if they are interested? It's uniqueness and history in NZ should make it an important addition to their collection.
