Hi

Ok, Stephen is up this weekend. The weather looks great so don't forget the sun screen!
The plan for Saturday is that I'll pick him up from Te Atatu around 8.00am. We'll head over to Simon's then make our way out to Mark's in Botany. From there we'll head to 1259 Alfirston Rd for the grasskhana. After we've finished being amazed by Wayne's driving skills we'll take a scenic route to find refreshments and then get Stephen back to Half moon bay in time to catch the 3.00pm ferry (and stay out of trouble).
Anyone and everyone is welcome to join in along the way, just let me know where you are or suggest a meeting point.

Cheers
Cliff

Hi

The day went really well and the weather was fantastic.
I picked Stephen up at 8.00am then headed over to Si's place.
After a discussion on 7's Stephen had a drive of the Westfield.
Unfortunately Si couldn't get away but did manage to escort us down to the water front.
From there we took the scenic route to Mark's to check out the Fraser build.
It's coming along nicely and looks like it won't be too long before it's sitting on it's wheels.
After a coffee at Mark's it was off to the grasskhana in Alfriston, once again along the coast road.
We met up with Wayne and watched him do a few runs.
It was at this point that I remembered that doing donuts is a lot of fun. Maybe I can find an empty paddock on the way home :D
All too quickly it was time to head off for some lunch and then the ferry.
Around this time my car decided that idling at 2500rpm would be a good idea. We had a quick look after lunch but could see anything obvious.
After lunch it was off to catch the 3.15 ferry. Unfortunately the 3.15 ferry had been canceled and became the 4.00pm ferry.

Stephen, it was great to meet you and it was a great way to spend a sunny Saturday.
I hope you enjoyed your day. Thanks for lunch :D

Cheers
Cliff

Hi,

Thanks for organising Cliff.

Stephen was great to meet you. Thanks so much for the tips on Westie.
Hope the next time you see her she will be in better condition.

Wished I could have joined you lads on "Steve's Day Out" with Akl tour and Wayno competing but unfortunately baby is priority (this time).

Next time we should be more in a routine (starting bottle feeding shortly...hnmm actually that may mean more responsibility for me...err...leave it with me!).

Anyway, look forward to your next trip to Auckland.

Si
PS Funny that you had a high idle issue as well Cliff...mine went up to nearly 6000rpm this morning....

Cheers guys it was a great day and i had a great time meeting everyone the weather was fantastic and I really did enjoy the Auckland and surrounding area tour tour, I now understand why people in the South Island slag of the Auckland region its because there envious of what you have up here !!!! yes sure they may be lots of traffic but the weather is great and the views are fantastic and those bay roads were great with all the beaches and everyone out enjoying them. A really BIG THANKS must go to Cliff for all the running around he did for me and letting me be a passenger in his car which made a nice change from driving a Seven.

I hope you managed to fix your idle issue Cliff and Si thanks for the kind comments about helping you out but really im only passing on info i have have picked from people on this forum who have helped me out with my car and your Westy looks fine mate when we following you to Auckalnd CBD I thought it looked great sitting on the road and i wouldn't change those guards to cycle guards at all. It was also great to see a Fraser unbuilt and have a close look at their workmanship which is really nice, cheers Mark the guys are really looking forward to you getting the car on the road to enjoy driving it with them on trip.

Anyway im now settled in at the resort on Waiheke Island and the day looks like its going to turn into another cracking one so its off to look around the Island before cricket and BBQ on the beach at 2.30pm. Just wish I had Grace up here to drive the Island roads in.

Cheers Stephen
