Use a ball pein hammer (round end!) And dent each hole down a few mm so the bog has somewhere to sit. Shame you can't shift them...holes add lightness.

thought about using a counter sink drill to taper the holes, but the hammer will do a better job I think, cheers

so I found an aluminum cover just doing nothing and thought it looked a lot like a fuel tank. Measure it and the car space up and I can make a 30l tank out of this that will sit behind the MX5 subframe and give me a boot. It will have one baffle and an internal swirl pot. just have to find a piece of 3mm Al for the top and back.

be warned, photo heavy post!
well tank is in and a sump added underneath. then as its a long holiday with some long service leave added in I thought I could do some finishing touches

the tunnel was just too big, so I cut it out and made a better one.

then I thought a new fresh skin would look good

and then go rid of the dsuz bonnet latches I fitted, no some simple stainless clips

more changes have been happening
hard cover for the "boot"
cut some alloy to the shape and screwed it in
Image
then covered it with Vinyl
Image
then got to run to hobbies at once, had a bike race to do that required driving through some sweet road used in the Targa, so had to make the most of the opportunity

I while ago I was reading a wikipedia page about the history of NZ number plates (bored at work), one thing I wondered was why when I brought Cossie it had MX200 as the number plate, and 3 of the dudes other cars had different make ups of MX200. Turns out (from wikipedia), that the number plates MX1 thru to MX999 were trial number plates checking out the new white plates with black writing. Anyhow you have one of those plates it seems.
