Hi Chris

Have you got your car back on the road yet?
Have you experienced any negatives with having a turboed engine in your 7 vs NA?
I'm guessing anything with that power to weight requires respect.
I've got a Mitsi 2L turbo engine which was earmarked for my build. Not sure if it'll fit in the Tui but might do a test fit over winter.
Much like the Mazda it's quite a tall engine.
I'm not sure if it's the way to go now or not but I've got the engine sitting in the garage so it'd be a shame not to!

Cheers
Cliff

I think the main problem with turbo vs na in a seven is the heat in the engine bay, getting rid of it can be a problem, and also finding somewhere to fit a large enough intercoolers

Anyway not to hijack this thread, but keen on seeing any progress Chris has made?

so as for some lap times had a cruzy 1:40 round ruapuna with trafic and yes you have to think very hard if doing a turbo as engine bays are small and heat is a huge factor i'm currently designing a new car and looking to take my street car back to around 180hp at the wheels for relyability but we will see

guys, yes your right putting a turbo in a clubby poses a massive heat dispersal problem, but all is not lost there is a very easy and simple solution that works
took a bit of trial and error, but 12lbs boost on a 13b in 40 degree heat, and even in heavy traffic not a sign of getting hot.
cheers Kaspa
