I paid way more than $60 for my EBC green stuff pads, around $100-$120 I think. I have read conflicting reports on EBC, the negative coments were from other brake manufacturers!
Are you sure they are better for 1/2 the $?
The pads from race brakes were in a different $$ league again - several hundred.

The understanding I have got from reading around is that EBC Yellow stuff is about equal to Bendix Ultimate, there are lots of opinions and stuff surrounding different brands, but all I can say is that any pad that is meant for a full sized car to go to trackdays on will be far more then adequate for a 7.

Having thrashed many pad brands around the track in various WRX, I can confirm that Ferodo DS2500 are a great pad - probably to much for a lightweight car though? DS2000 might be a nicer choice, good cold bite and you really know when they get up in temp :) Gentle as on discs with all the good points being better than the M1144s and the older Ultimates

Yellow stuff and Ultimates are not the same (I should say the old Ultimates having not used the new ones), IME Ultimates are disc hungry and filthy on heavier cars, Green Stuff is probably a closer pad in terms of how it feels - the issues with the Greens was the first batch(es) fell apart, long since fixed. Yellows are great pads (big capacity though), if the newer Ultimates are considered similar then I'll humbly eat my words

5.1 all the way, just takes a little more punishment between changes.

If you are anywhere in the country, Racebrakes is the place to go, Steve is super helpful :D

having also tried many different pads on Monty i think i would be reasonably qualified to offer some advice,
firstly personaly i wouldnt put EBC pads on a ride on lawn mower, been there tried that , 1144 great pad if you care to change rotors every second weekend.
after much soul searching and on advice from Steve at Race Brakes, i tried a combo he recommended, and if they didnt work he'd try something else till they did, guess what , his first combo is still on the car and is incredible, DS3000 on the front and DS2500 on the rear, but remember this is a 300hp rocket,
for Mr average a DS2000 or if driven hard with the occasional track day a DS2500 will give you more brakes than you have courage beleive me.
great performance from stone cold and bloody fantastic when you get some decent heat into them
cheers Kaspa
