Re: WTB: Light good brakes for cortina uprights

Les reported that he can't buy the outlaws anymore - The company is too hard to deal with for him. I haven't found a bolt on option yet. The B16s from Palmside might work but I'm unsure if they can be modified to fit the half inch solid discs.

Re: Tyre pressures - Update, not an open question about what's best :-)

Thanks. There's absolutely nothing to be lost by not trying these out and potentially something to be learned so I'll definitely give these a go. The only difference might be if they are genuine racing lines (with the implicit assumption that you may want to defend slightly into corners).. Because I...

Re: Tyre pressures - Update, not an open question about what's best :-)

Unrelated: While looking at CPUs on EBAY a local machine came up for sale with DUAL 12 core Xeons (so 24 physical 2.7-3.5Ghz cores), 128GB, multiple SSDs etc. All for less than the price of buying bits off ebay and hoping not to be scammed so it's on the way to me from a seller in Akl I've dealt wit...

Re: Tyre pressures - Update, not an open question about what's best :-)

That's really interesting... I've never been completely happy with my lines through the esses especially, but I do have some questions on that formula ford lap because some of the lines are so far different.. T1 - start wide but ultimate turn in not from as wide as I expected. great apex but no use ...

Re: Tyre pressures - Update, not an open question about what's best :-)

I've stuck at 21/22 cold... I have been getting quicker every time I hit the GP track for the last 3 events, Down to a very low 1:39 now (1:39.15 I think) and that was with a small mistake, so there's a 1:38 in the car and me right now. As long as I keep improving I will stick with the current temps...

Re: WTB: Light good brakes for cortina uprights

I'm trying to source a set now but Les is busy and hard to get hold of... Hopefully I can talk to him this week. The Outlaws do sound like the way to go. I wouldn't be opposed to new vented discs if I had to but I'd prefer to stay with the current rotors since they are the lightest option.

Re: WTB: Light good brakes for cortina uprights

Thanks for the confirmation. Not sure I'll even bother getting the vented discs - might just stick with current solid rotors. Not sure I'll even get enough heat into them to justify it. I have heard that on a really light car it's possible to have issues with the brakes not being able to get warm en...

WTB: Light good brakes for cortina uprights

Front, to replace the decent but HEAVY princess 4 pots on at the moment. Happy to buy new, just keen on suggestions or seeing if anyone had a set of suitable things lying about. Must fit under 13" wheels.

Re: Lotus 7 (genuine) on TM

Not quite true. They will stop you listing a clearly labelled Lotus 7 REPLICA in the Lotus category, but they are ok with a provably non Lotus/Steelbros vehicle being advertised as genuine :-)
