from LVVTA manual
Technical requirements:
10.1 Fuel tank construction
10.1.1
A new custom or one-off fuel tank may be fitted to a low volume
vehicle as an alternative to a fuel tank from a mass-produced
vehicle, provided that the tank is constructed from fuel-resistant
and corrosion-resistant materials, with a minimum thickness of:
(a)
in the case of aluminium, 1.6 mm (16-gauge); or
(b)
in the case of stainless steel, 1.0 mm (20-gauge); or
(c)
in the case of ‘electro-galv’ mild steel, 1.2 mm (18-gauge).

Thanks.... I found something similar on line, but I had the feeling that it was increased in a recent change.

I'll go ahead and make it in 2mm, then lie when asked what thickness if necessary!

Watch out they might make you drill a witness hole in the bottom of it...

Make it in 3mm, 2mm will ripple when welding.
Mark told me this after I had made mine from 2mm, he was right.
