Can anyone supply a simple diagram for a na 1.6 miata circuit opening relay . Am using an aftermarket 5 terminal relay . Need to know which wires go to which terminal numbers ( 30, 85, 86, 87, 87a) ???

This relay opperates the fuel pump. From what I gather with the ignition key on run , the air flow meter switch turns on with the air coming into engine ( light green wire keeps relay and pump on) With ignition key on start air flow meter is off ( not open yet ) and the fuel pump is turned on by the violet wire coming from the sign fuse.

I can’t comment about the MX5 but do know old Toyota’s use a twin coil relay for safety on the fuel pump so it turns it off the fuel if the engine is stalled. Is this the same ?

Glad you found the problem with relay and got that sorted. No good about the crimp, but soldering them is just adding another failure point where the solid meets flexible. What sort of crimp tool do you have? I have wired 4 cars and never had a crimp come loose (Using rachet crimp tools and correct gauge crimp for the wire)

Looking very smart... I used a Ford colour on my first car... Electric Orange. Comes out very close to your colour and looks great on the car.

Well done on the progress.

The mx5 motor looks very tidy in there, they really are a great option for sevens.
