Looking for a summer project - Wanted BEC 7 incomplete

Post by Proutyc » Wed Sep 03, 2014 11:19 am

Just thought I'd throw something out on here and see.

Looking for a summer project so was looking to see if there were any partially finished 7's or similar floating around.

I'm wanting to go BEC so that would be even better if I can find one already started. Let me know if you know of any around

Many Thanks in advance

Hi,

I have a Honda Hornet 900cc motor and ancillaries for a BEC setup.
I have a turbo and supercharger for it too.

I know where there is a tacked together chassis for a Haynes roadster, isn't that right Mr John Lee.

I thought it was winter for projects and summer for driving!

All the best getting a car, look forward to seeing the progress once you get the project started!

Thanks for the comments.

I'm thinking summer project as I've been busy with this creation for a few years. I've attached an article from a couple of months ago when my race car was in NZPC.

Was hoping to find something with alot of the fabbing done. John can you send me pictures of it to proutyc@hotmail.com

Your Saker looks awesome, look forward to seeing it out on track. Did you have to do much to get the weight down or was it taken care of with just fitting the bike engine?

Yeah the engine really helps but also that the chassis is a one off to suit the engine config and the suspension lay out. The down side is the front rocker suspension isnt as straight forward compared to the standard Saker

Also the Indycar wheels are less than half the weight of the Simmons I started with. Those alone probably save almost 25kg
