Suspension Bushes... Where's good - and open soon?

Post by Talkiet » Sun Jan 01, 2017 9:05 pm

I'm replacing the front lower A-Arm bushes and they appear to be these suckers... (Front Steering - idler bushing from an 88-97 Hilux - RN105, LN106 4WD)

http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_det ... ber=W11693

Repco had some in stock from Nolathane ( http://www.nolathane.com.au/product_det ... 2&sq=13448 ) which seemed to match, but when I got there, the actual items they had in the packets were wrong... Two at Northwood and one in town all had 18mm ID, not 16.5 as it said in the catalogue. Ugh. (And the flange was going to be too thick at 5mm instead of the 2mm listed on the whiteline site (and measured from an existing bush).

I think BNT and autolign do whiteline so I'll try them when they open again, but is there anywhere else I have missed that could possibly have some suitable bushes around?

I doubt those'll work. They were custom bushes, machined either from graphite impregnated nylon, or red urethane bar from LEP (Luduichi Engineering Plastics).

If I was using the original A arms as you built, yes, you'd be right :-)... Mark replaced the lower A-Arms a couple of years ago (There was a bend in one) and this is what's in there now...

I found a partial part number off one of the less worn bushes and found the whiteline part and they match on all dimensions...

I do like the graphite impregnated stuff I found on the top A-Arms... (I've been taking things apart, repainting the exhaust etc and making it look pretty again)... I have new, GORGEOUS Carbon Fibre parts coming as well :-)
