Trying to trace Steel Bros Chassis 3014

Post by gmt » Sun Aug 04, 2019 10:23 pm

Originally registered GT 632, chassis no SB 3014, I purchased this new from Steel Bros. Looking to trace and contact current owner At least I think it was 3014, at any rate it was the 14th one they produced, so the 14 part of the chassis number is right. Originally burnt orange, I had it painted British Racing Green after a repair following an excursion on the Gebes Pass hill climb in ? 1975.
Any leads appreciated.

Found it! Peter Thompson bought my old car in 1979, after I sold it in Jan 1977 to a lady in Taranaki - Waitotara I think. The car was sold with a very detailed history but sadly those records weren't passed on.
It is about to be rebuilt. Peter's email is peter_thompson@outlook.com Peter and I had a long chat today and I was able to recall some of the history from 43 years ago - memories came flooding back.
Can anyone recall the names of the the 3 guys at Steel Bros who built the cars. They had a small factory unit apart from the main Steel Bros plant. All were motorsport enthusiasts.
BTW my phone number in Australia is +61 - not +64 as in my original query.
