Duratec specs... what's the go?

Post by 7ish » Thu Feb 06, 2014 2:18 pm

SO if you wanted to build a duratec, would you go for a modeo 2.3 ltr, a mazda L3 (2.3 with vvt), or a 2.0 focus motor non vvt? Looking for around 200hp.. meant to be achievable with ITB injection and an after market ECU.

There was a thread on OZ clubbies regarding this a few weeks ago.
I recall the 2.3 ranger block was the go because it didn't have a balance shaft.

Any particular reason for a Duratec?

All alloy construction, no head work needed as ports and valves good for over 200 hp, much easier to find than a honda k20a4....(and cheaper).
