Back road from Oxford..

Post by 7ish » Tue Dec 29, 2009 5:30 pm

If you want a short but fun blast, the road from Oxford to Loburn ( past Lee's valley) is a ripper. Have a coffee at Seager's in Oxford before you go. About 20mins worth. It is very twisty with blind crests just out of Oxford for about 10k's, then opens out down to Loburn. Very little traffic most of the time. In winter they spread the odd bit of grit, so take care!! Call in on 7ish at Loburn when you finish!!

I often use that route for my test drives, it is a nice drive but as 7ish said watch the grit (and frost) in winter. If you want to take a break coming back down Tram Road from Oxford, I am about half way along.

We often take Grace for a run from Kaiapoi out to Rangiora and then on to Oxford via that route for a coffee at Jo Seagers and also the other coffee shop 49 (I think thats it) its a great run with a bit of every thing thrown in apart from a hill climb. I have meet quite a few different cars on the run also last time I hooked up with 2 AC Cobra replicas :).

I will call in for a coffee next time John when we go that way home .
Why walk when you can accelerate through life in a 7.....
